County Weighs Issuing Call for Public Bids

The Related Cos. of New York is considering building another hotel at the Palm Beach County convention center, a development that could double the number of hotel rooms available for conventions and catapult the center into a major meeting destination.

The move also could prompt county officials to take another tack and launch a public request for proposals from companies eager to do business in West Palm Beach.

The convention center, at 650 Okeechobee Boulevard, sits at the gateway to the city from Interstate 95.

Related, which built and owns the Hilton West Palm Beach hotel at the convention center, is interested in building another hotel featuring up to 500 rooms, said Derrick Steinour,

Nora District to Break Ground in May


Construction will begin on West Palm Beach's latest neighborhood revamp in May after financing for the Nora district was attained through a partnership with Wheelock Street Capital.
