Young Singers Of The Palm Beaches Presents We’ll Rise Above
MAY 28, 2022 |ALEXANDER W. DREYFOOS CONCERT HALL
Young Singers of the Palm Beaches (YSPB) came back live, in concert to raving reviews and rounds of applause in December 2021 at their winter concert, “There Will Be Light.” Now all 250 singers invite everyone to join them as they continue spreading uplifting messages at their spring concert “We’ll Rise Above.”
Shawn Berry, Young Singers’ Artistic Director/Conductor, explains the important meaning behind the title of the concert: “For the last two years, singers and choirs around the world have been silenced due to the pandemic. But now, singing is being heard, it is “rising above” the darkness and silence that permeated our lives… we are empowered by songs of resiliency, imagination, and hope.”
“We’ll Rise Above” will be a celebration full of bright enthusiasm, joy, and most of all, hope.
The concert will feature songs about pure fun: daydreams, imagination, fireflies and summer nights. There will be songs that sweetly unify the word “peace” in 19 different languages, heart-tugging expressions of empathy and the universal message of perseverance, as well as songs of encouragement, empowerment, and the truth that comes from being who you truly are.
As we look to the future, the singers of YSPB themselves, ages 8 to 18, are the future. Their voices will build the roads that lead into our tomorrow and the audience will leave this concert with positivity knowing that, as the title song says, “We’ll rise above, seize the highest dream. We’ll lift our heads up high, move the sky, embrace our destiny!”
